Training like an athlete will help you stay motivated, make tremendous progress, and get into the best shape of your life.

Having been a tennis player my whole life, I’ve always been interested in what allows an athlete to perform at his or her peak. Fitness is so important in tennis, and any sport for that matter. But what sets apart the incredibly fit from everybody else?

The Athlete’s Daily Habits

It comes down to the daily training of an athlete. How do they train and what strategies are they implementing to set them apart from the rest. And that’s exactly how you need to think about your training.

I’ve seen it all when it comes to fitness training. I’ve trained with American and European coaches, top college trainers, top-10 pro tennis players, and other high level athletes and coaches. That’s why I’ve become invested in the lean body approach – as has Lyuda — because we both understand that this is what enables somebody to achieve peak fitness, performance, health, and wellbeing for the long run.

The question you need to ask yourself is how am I training? What routines am I doing day in and day out that are going to give me the strongest possible base for health, fitness, and wellbeing for the rest of my life. If you are committed to getting to your peak level of fitness then you need a program to follow that includes training moves, eating strategies, recipes.

Achieving Your Goals

Take a few moments to identify some of your goals when it comes to health, fitness, and nutrition. Do you want to get lean? Do you want to build muscle? Are you just trying to understand what eating healthy means?

Every goal is valid and important. If you’re falling short of meeting your objectives, then it’s likely that you need some extra guidance with how to get there. By integrating the right routines into your daily life, and having proper support, you will be able to start reaping the benefits.

Stay tuned for next week, when we will delve more into the specific routines of an athlete’s training.
